Purpose
In this website I will share resources that I have found about integrating technology into our teaching. I maintain this site chiefly for my students to have links to these resources when they no longer have access to our course management system.
Learning to integrate technology into teaching for me has been a journey from the paradigm of teaching as telling to a paradigm of teaching as guiding. I, like many others before me, have come to see the teacher’s role as one of building a learning environment. In our world where technology is changing at the speed of light, teachers are no longer the givers of information, for students have ready access to an amazing amount of information. Instead teachers must become the voice that helps students evaluate the information they view and teach them the skills they need to become lifelong learners. In the words of Marc Prensky, “we are all teachers; we are all learners.” On this website I hope to share some of the resources that I have found that I believe will help pre-service and current teachers as they make this journey. |
